Solder fume extraction

Solder fume extraction is a central component of occupational health and safety in electronics production. Soldering produces harmful aerosols and vapors, for example from fluxes or adhesives. The effective extraction systems remove these pollutants directly at the source - be it through extraction arms at the soldering tip, compact table extraction systems or powerful stationary units. They sustainably improve air quality and contribute to compliance with workplace-related limit values. In this way, you create a safe and standard-compliant working environment.

  1. Prolonged exposure to airborne particles and gases can cause permanent damage to human health - including nosebleeds, headaches, occupational asthma and even sinunasal cancer.
  2. Every year, asthma and other respiratory diseases, including lung cancer, caused by smoke and other airborne contaminants in the workplace, affect many workers worldwide.
  3. At least 20% of employees in the soldering sector show clinical signs of occupational asthma.
  4. Occupational asthma is a serious problem in the electronics industry, as affected individuals are often no longer able to work in their original field of activity.
  5. Breathing with occupational asthma feels like breathing through a straw - laborious and restricted.
  6. Once asthma symptoms occur, they usually persist and cannot be reversed.
  7. Almost all people who work in industrial environments regularly come into contact with chemicals containing solvents.
  8. Most harmful gases are invisible to the naked eye - their danger often goes unnoticed.
  9. For people with cardiovascular disease, even short-term exposure to airborne pollutants can lead to cardiac arrhythmias.
  10. The combination of gaseous and particulate pollutants in the air is significantly more dangerous than contact with just one of these components.

What is the best way to protect myself against harmful substances in the workplace?

Soldering produces fine particles, gases and vapors that can contain harmful substances. These harmful substances enter the body via the respiratory tract and can lead to long-term illnesses.

Professional soldering fume extraction systems are required to remove harmful particles from the air. These filter the particles out of the air using special filters and release them back into the atmosphere free of harmful substances.

Cleaner is better. Effective solder fume extraction.

The filter systems from Weller help you to breathe clean air without hazardous fumes and particles. They are specially designed for continuous use in industrial working environments. The high-quality HEPA H13 filters clean the air of hazardous vapors, particles and viruses. They therefore return clean air to the workplace and ensure a safe working environment.
