BASIC 2 ESD swivel chair with synchronous technology Bimos
The Basic 2 ESD swivel chair with synchronous technology from bimos combines ergonomic features with ESD safety to meet the requirements of electrostatically protected work areas. This chair is specifically designed to safely dissipate electrostatic discharges, which is confirmed by compliance with the ESD standard DIN EN 61340-5-1. The seat height can be adjusted from 49 to 63 cm, while the backrest has a height of 53 cm and features a permanent contact function.The dual casters are designed for smooth floors and are conductive, making the chair ideal for sensitive environments. It has a load capacity of up to 120 kg and is designed without armrests, but can be customized with a variety of covers, such as fabric or synthetic leather. The base is made of black, flat tapering steel, which additionally contributes to the robust construction.
The chair supports dynamic sitting through the synchronous technology, which includes weight regulation to maximize seating comfort and minimize physical strain. The integrated lumbar support and the rounded front edge of the seat promote a healthy sitting posture and offer additional comfort.

ESD suitability of the BASIC swivel chair
The Basic ESD swivel chair is suitable for use in electrostatically protected areas, as it is characterized by reliable ESD protection. The EN 61340-5-1 standard specifies the required resistances, which the BASIC chair meets.
The ESD BASIC swivel chair in three models
Der The ESD BASIC offers all the typical Bimos benefits - whether at a low or high working height. It is available in three versions that are optimally adapted to different workplace requirements:
- Model 1: For low working positions with glides
- Model 2: For low working positions with castors
- Model 3: For high working positions with glides
The PLUS version also has a conductive back shell and therefore offers even more protection in sensitive ESD areas.
Ergonomic settings of the CLEANROOM BASIC
Leg length, height or weight - the physical characteristics of the employees set the standard. The ESD BASIC ergonomics package ensures the right settings.
1. Seat height adjustment
The ESD BASIC swivel chair can be adjusted to different workstation heights and the individual body sizes of employees by up to 290 mm using the seat height adjustment. (steplessly from 460 - 630 mm)
2. Permanent contact backrest (0° - 17°) with seat tilt adjustment (-8° - 7°)
The backrest follows the movements and adapts to the individual working posture. The spine is supported in all sitting positions. With this mechanism, the seat can also be continuously tilted forwards. This allows a relaxed posture even when the upper body is leaning forward. Pressure on the thigh area is reduced, which promotes even blood circulation. The backrest can be locked in any position.
3. Synchronous technology with weight regulation
With synchronous technology, the seat and backrest accompany the body when leaning back. This enables dynamic sitting and relaxes the muscles, relieves pressure on the intervertebral discs, improves circulation and significantly increases concentration and performance. The individual leaning pressure of the backrest is set by means of infinitely variable weight adjustment. (0° - 17°)
4. Backrest height adjustment
Relaxed sitting depends to a large extent on an optimally supported back. The height of the backrest can be adjusted to provide optimum support for the lumbar vertebrae. (60 mm)
5. 4D armrests
The optional 4D armrests provide ideal support for the shoulder girdle and arms. The height of the 4D armrests can be adjusted by 110 mm. The width of the armrests can be adjusted by 20 mm. The depth of the armrests can be adjusted by up to 60 mm. The armrests can be swiveled within an angle range of +/- 45°.
Dissipative materials - covers
Electrostatic charge is generated both on objects and on people. It is therefore important that the materials reliably dissipate the electrostatic charge, which is carried by employees and endangers the components, into the floor. At the same time, it must be ensured that no new charge is generated on the chair itself. All upholstery used in the ESD area has been developed precisely for this purpose.
1 - Fabric ESD
Fabric is soft and comfortable and ensures a pleasant sitting sensation. It is permeable to air and therefore breathable. Especially in clean environments, such as the ESD area, fabric is a popular cover material and offers employees maximum comfort.
2 - Synthetic leather ESD
The cover material synthetic leather has two main advantages: It is extremely easy to clean, washable and resistant to disinfectants. And, alongside fabric, it is one of the softest materials, which ensures a high level of seating comfort.
