Smart Tweezer ST-5S
Testing surface-mounted components
Surface-mounted components are typically tiny and without wire leads, making it more difficult to test and identify SMDs than traditional components. Smart Tweezers™ provides users with an easy way to sort and evaluate loose components and perform measurements and troubleshooting on the board. Precise test leads reliably contact even the smallest SMD components and take measurements of already mounted components. The probe can also be used to test conventional components with wire leads that are too short to be inserted into the test terminals.
Automated measurements
Perform measurements faster with Smart Tweezers™ by using the automatic component identification function, which eliminates unnecessary trial and error time. Smart Tweezers™ automatically specifies L, C or R in parallel and series mode and selects an appropriate measurement range and test frequency for highly accurate measurements. The device displays the component type and a more detailed component analysis such as Z and ESR.
Lightweight and ergonomic
The integrated measuring head allows the operator to use one hand and concentrate on the tested component and the task at hand. Sorting, testing and troubleshooting become more efficient and cost-effective. The shielded 4-wire handles of the Smart Tweezers™ ensure low capacitance and resistance offsets during measurements.
Wide range of additional functions
- Smart Tweezers™ LCR meter allows you to test various component types, including secondary components such as damping factor (D) and quality factor (Q). This handheld device also includes other features that lead to more detailed component analysis.
- The built-in Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) mode helps you understand the inherent resistance behavior typically found in capacitors at selected frequencies.
- In diode mode, Smart Tweezers™ tests the polarity of diodes and indicates whether they are shorted.
- Smart Tweezers™ has a continuity detector. A variable signal tone sounds for resistance measurements below defined threshold values. This function also helps to locate shorted conductors (e.g. on a circuit board).
- In manual modes, Smart Tweezers™ measures a specific circuit parameter - L, C, R, Z or ESR. Manual modes also improve component identification for in-circuit testing.
- Variable test signal output from 0.41 to 0.91 Vrms enables improved test accuracy in various situations, such as in-circuit measurements and loose ceramic capacitors with wire leads.
- The visible and audible tolerance mode enables sorting of components.
- The mathematical zero function allows a pre-measured offset to be saved and improves measurement accuracy.
Smart Tweezer ST-5.LED Iskra
Testing surface-mounted and through-hole LEDs
Surface-mounted components are usually more difficult to test and identify than conventional components due to their size. ST-LED provides users with an easy way to test and verify different types of LEDs, even if they are already placed on PCBs. The probe can also be used to test through-hole LEDs.
Automated measurements
ST-5.LED performs automatic LED polarity detection using a unique safe adaptive test algorithm. After LED polarity detection, the Smart Tweezer lights up the LED with the preset test current value and the set current pulse duration. During the test cycle, the device displays the test current value, the polarity indicator, the forward voltage across the LED and the current pulse duration.
It is equipped with a built-in high-capacity rechargeable Li-Ion battery. A micro USB charging cable is included. It can be charged from any standard USB port or USB wall charger.
