EPA access control system

EPA access control systems in electrostatically protected areas (EPA) ensure that only people with standard-compliant earthing are granted access to sensitive production areas. They check compliance with the required leakage resistances before access is granted, thereby protecting sensitive electronic assemblies from electrostatic discharge.

The product range includes mechanical components such as Gotschlich turnstiles and swing doors as well as electronic systems such as the EPApro® ESD personnel grounding control system, EPA barrier systems and PGT personnel test stations. These modular systems can be flexibly integrated into existing access control systems and contribute to process safety and the standard-compliant implementation of ESD protection.

The decisive factor in selecting the appropriate system for an emergency exit is always the required minimum exit width! This is specified by the relevant emergency exit plan or by the responsible building authority—and is therefore the key criterion for planning. Various combinations are available to ensure this width. Which solution is appropriate and permissible in each individual case depends on the specific on-site conditions—in particular, the desired escape route dimensions and any requirements regarding the flow of people or materials.
