The RT Pico MS soldering tip series is designed for the WXPP MS soldering iron. The series includes high-performance active soldering tips for the smallest micro-components (sizes 0402 to 01005). They are characterized by a short distance between tip and handle. They are suitable for the smallest soldering applications with the highest precision requirements and are used in aerospace and clean room technology, electronics and the automotive industry.
MS soldering tips are MIL-SPEC compliant, i.e. they are used in accordance with MIL-STD-2000. In contrast to conventional soldering tips, they have additional insulation to earth, which prevents interference frequencies. As a result, they are often used for soldering tasks in the military sector. MS soldering tips are not compatible with conventional handpieces, but must always be used with MS soldering irons.
Weller offers 3 different tip technologies, the RTP series offers the Active-Tip technology.
