Soldering and desoldering tips

These high-quality soldering and desoldering tips are characterized by precision, durability and efficient heat transfer. They are optimally matched to modern soldering tools and enable reliable work on a wide range of soldering tasks - from professional electronics work to delicate repair work.

Thanks to fast heat-up times and intelligent cutting-edge technologies, they offer consistent performance for both delicate and power-intensive applications. A wide range of shapes and sizes ensures that the right tip is available for every requirement. Weller and JBC soldering tips are system-specific and only compatible with the respective soldering stations.

Flux and solder alloy

Too much active flux can cause corrosion. IPC recommends: ROL, REL and ORL. The internal flux of small diameter solder rolls may not be sufficient. Provide compatible external flux if required.

Oxidation

Iron oxide does not wet well and does not transfer temperature (dewetting). The higher the temperature, the greater the risk of oxidation. Always keep the soldering tips tinned when not in use. Use flux for your solder joints. Use the sleep and hibernate functions.

Thickness of the iron coating

Plate wear shortens the service life of the tip (hollowing). Use the cleaning methods specified by the manufacturer. Do not apply too much pressure to the tip.

Correct techniques

Excessive pressure on the soldering surface can cause the tip or plate to break. Do not use as a pointed object or screwdriver. Select the largest possible tip for each application and work at the lowest possible temperature.

Working temperatures

The higher the temperature, the greater the oxidation and corrosion. Work at the lowest possible temperature. Use thermally efficient tools and ensure that the tips are free from oxidation.
